Peninsular Speleological Group (PSG) PublicationsThe first (and only) regular publication from the PSG was a Bulletin, initially issued in February 1972, though the club started a little earlier than this. The PSG consisted primarily of a group of friends based in the northern suburbs of Sydney, mostly university students who were interested more in speleological science and exploration than in "out-and-out" gung-ho adventure. Never actually a member organization of the ASF, the PSG were responsible for the surveying and documentation of a large number of sea caves and non-limestone caves from Newcastle down to Seven Mile Beach just south of Wollongong. They were also early contributors to the development of cave rescue in NSW, following an incident at Bungonia. The club wound up around 1975 as members went their separate ways, however, many of them are still involved in caving through other clubs, and some at the highest levels of the ASF. Access to the PSG Bulletins is not restricted to
ASF Members, however any material used should acknowledge the PSG
and these journals as the original source.
Access to the survey notebook is restricted to ASF members (and will
be accessible when the login feature becomes available). Bulletin
