Vibrations caused by earth movement many thousands of years ago caused this stalactite to break

away from the roof. As it fell it landed on its own stalagmite with the top end resting on the slanting wall.

The break happened so long ago that water still dripping from where the stalactite broke off has formed

a new stalactite and also cemented the old stalactite to the stalagmite.
