Convict Leg Irons
These convict leg irons were discovered in Bushrangers' Cave by caretaker Sam Grosvenor in 1894.
In 1830, Ralph Entwistle led a rebellion of convicts who became known as the "Ribbon Gang"
The gang were captured near the caves and after a short trial were hanged in Bathurst for their crimes.
It is believed that these leg irons were dropped by a Trooper in his search for the bushrangers.
