Explore Caves & Karst

Welcome to Explore Caves & Karst Teaching Resource
This CD contains a range of different teaching materials. You may wish to use everything, or just pick those materials which suit your teaching style and your students. The materials are:

Teacher Notes
These are notes written by teachers for teachers. They assume that you have little background knowledge of the topic yet provide enough depth that you will be able to answer most student questions.
There are also a sequence of suggested lesson plans for middle school. Each is for a 45 min class which can be combined to form a 90 min block if required.
There are some additional materials that you might find useful - one on cave mapping and another on taking photographs in caves.

Activities
These are a number of worksheets on cave process, mapping and scientific methods. They contain all the information required for students to complete.

Images
These images contain a range of energy topics. These images can be downloaded and used in your teaching presentations. The copyright owner of the images is found in the text. Other information on their use is found on the Conditions page

3-D Model
This model of a cave is made up of a number of color pages. Students can construct this with glue and scissors.
